ChatGPT Halloween prompts for posters, flyers and covers with real lettering

These ChatGPT Halloween prompts are built around what GPT Image does well: setting exact words inside a picture and arranging a busy scene so it still reads at a glance. Four of them put you on a movie poster, a yearbook page, a comic cover or a drive-in seat; one makes a party flyer with no photo at all. Paste them into ChatGPT, or run them in this independent GPT Image 2.5 studio.

Five GPT Image prompts for Halloween

Every card shows an example, the full prompt and what it is for. "Use this look" loads the prompt into the studio with the right GPT Image 2.5 Flare route and a 3:4 canvas; for the four photo prompts, upload one selfie before you generate.

  • Painted retro horror movie poster with a frightened grey-haired woman in the foreground and a giant moth creature over a green moon and water tower

Night of the Hollow Moon Poster

You as the terrified lead of a painted 1950s creature-feature poster, with a giant moth over the town and a dripping red title. The prompt you will want to print.

Photo-to-poster prompt · GPT Image edit
Turn the uploaded photo into a 1950s drive-in horror movie poster starring this person. Keep their face, identity, own skin tone exactly as in the photo, age, hair and features recognisable; they are the frightened lead in the lower third, looking over one shoulder, painted in classic gouache illustration style. Above them, a giant shadowy moth creature spreads its wings across a green full moon over a small town water tower. Exact title at the top in bold dripping hand-lettered red capitals: "NIGHT OF THE HOLLOW MOON". Small tagline under it: "NOBODY LEAVES THE HOLLOW". Aged paper texture, folded-poster creases, limited palette of red, sickly green and black. No studio logos, no rating box, no other text.
  • Purple Halloween party flyer showing a crooked Victorian house with glowing windows, bedsheet ghosts on the porch, bats and carved pumpkins

    Haunted House Party Flyer

A screen-print style flyer with a crooked house, porch ghosts and three lines of exact text: headline, date and dress code. No photo needed.

    Text-to-image prompt · GPT Image
Design a Halloween house-party flyer, portrait format. Exact headline at the top in chunky orange retro letters: "HAUNTED HOUSE PARTY". Below it, centered: "SAT · OCT 31 · 8 PM". At the bottom: "COSTUMES REQUIRED". In the middle, an illustrated crooked Victorian house with glowing yellow windows, three friendly bedsheet ghosts on the porch, bats and a crescent moon, carved pumpkins on the steps. Deep purple night background, flat screen-print style with slight halftone texture and generous margins so the flyer prints cleanly. Spell every word exactly as given, no extra words, no addresses, no logos.
  • Faded 1970s yearbook-style portrait of a woman with feathered hair in a brown corduroy blazer and cream turtleneck against a mottled blue backdrop

    Class of '77 Haunted Yearbook

Feathered hair, a corduroy blazer and a mottled blue backdrop on yellowed paper, with a pale figure lurking behind your shoulder and a typed caption.

Photo edit prompt · GPT Image edit
Restyle the uploaded photo as a page from a 1977 high-school yearbook, haunted edition. Keep the person's face, identity, own skin tone exactly as in the photo, age and expression unchanged; show them at their real age, not younger. Give their hair a feathered 1970s cut in its own colour, dress them in a brown corduroy blazer over a cream turtleneck, and use a mottled blue studio backdrop. Print look: slightly faded colour, soft focus, film grain, a square photo with rounded corners on yellowed paper. A faint pale ghost-like figure is visible only in the backdrop behind one shoulder. Under the photo, a typed caption reading exactly: "CLASS OF '77 · MOST LIKELY TO HAUNT". No other names, no school logos.
  • Vintage comic-book cover illustration of a woman in a witch hat holding a candy sack on a moonlit street as a giant jack-o-lantern peers around a house

    Trick or Treat Tales Cover

An inked, Ben-Day-dotted comic cover: you in a witch hat with a candy sack, a giant jack-o'-lantern peeking round a house, a masthead and a speech bubble.

Photo-to-comic prompt · GPT Image edit
Turn the uploaded photo into the cover of a vintage trick-or-treat comic book. Keep the person's face, identity, own skin tone exactly as in the photo, age and hair recognisable, drawn in bold inked lines with Ben-Day dot shading. They wear a witch costume with a pointed hat and hold a pillowcase of candy, standing on a moonlit suburban street while a giant jack-o'-lantern with glowing eyes peers around a house. Bright four-colour printing: orange, purple, yellow and black. Exact masthead at the top in big outlined letters: "TRICK OR TREAT TALES". A small round corner badge reading "No. 1" and a speech bubble from them saying "THAT PUMPKIN JUST BLINKED!". No publisher logos, no price, no other text.
  • Woman with grey-streaked hair holding popcorn in a red vintage convertible at a misty drive-in theatre at night, lit by the screen

    Drive-In Double Feature Selfie

The one plain selfie edit: you in a red convertible with popcorn, lit by a monster movie on the big screen. Good for a profile picture that is Halloween without a costume.

Selfie edit prompt · GPT Image edit
Edit the uploaded selfie. Keep the person's face, identity, own skin tone exactly as in the photo, age, hair and expression unchanged. Place them in the driver's seat of a red 1960s convertible at a drive-in theatre on Halloween night, a striped paper bucket of popcorn in their hands, a cosy oversized black cardigan with tiny embroidered orange pumpkins. The big outdoor screen behind them shows a blurry black-and-white monster silhouette and casts a cool silver-blue glow on their face, mixed with warm red light from the car's tail lights. Light mist, a few other cars in the distance. Chest-up candid photo, cinematic 35mm look. Do not change the face, add no text or logos to the screen, no watermarks.

The examples were made during testing with ChatGPT image generation from these prompts; the four photo looks used a fictional AI-generated portrait. They were not made in this studio, and results from GPT Image 2.5 Flare or Sunburst here will differ, so check every word before you print.

In short

  • Three prompts depend on legible text: a poster title, a flyer with date and time, a comic masthead. Each puts the exact words in quotation marks and says "no other text".
  • Four prompts edit your photo (6 credits on Flare); the flyer is text-to-image (4 credits).
  • Swap the quoted words for your own title, date or tagline, then zoom in and check every letter before you print.
  • This studio is not ChatGPT and not affiliated with OpenAI; a ChatGPT plan does not include credits here.

Why these prompts lean on text and layout

Most Halloween prompt lists are costume swaps. GPT Image is better used for the things a costume photo cannot do: a poster with a title, a flyer people can read from across a room, a comic cover with a masthead and a speech bubble. It handles short quoted text and multi-part compositions well, which is why each prompt here describes the layout from top to bottom.

The rule that keeps lettering clean: quote the exact words, say where they go and in what style, keep each line short, and finish with "no other text". Long sentences and extra small print are where letters start to drift.

  • Poster titles: four or five words, one tagline at most.
  • Flyers: headline, one date line, one instruction. Put addresses and RSVP details in your message, not the image.
  • Speech bubbles: under eight words, all capitals.

Make it your own in two edits

Change the quoted words first: your party name, your house's "film" title, your own tagline. Keep the rest of the prompt intact for the first run so you can see the layout working, then adjust one thing at a time.

  1. Run the prompt as written Swap only the quoted text. Check the composition and spelling.
  2. Fix text with an edit If one word is wrong, upload the result to the edit route and write: Correct the title to read exactly "YOUR TITLE". Keep everything else unchanged.
  3. Then change style Only after the words are right, ask for a different palette or era in a separate edit.

Using the prompts in ChatGPT or in this studio

In ChatGPT, attach your photo, paste the prompt and send; ChatGPT's image limits depend on your OpenAI plan. ChatGPT may also rewrite a prompt before drawing, so if the result drifts, ask it to use the prompt exactly as written.

In this studio, "Use this look" loads the prompt and the right route. GPT Image 2.5 Flare costs 4 credits for a new image and 6 for an edit of your photo; Sunburst, the precision option, costs 6 and 8. Each run makes one PNG at medium quality, and eligible new accounts start with 4 welcome credits, enough for the flyer.

Printing and sharing sizes

The 3:4 canvas comes out at 768 × 1024 pixels: sharp on a phone and fine for a story or group chat, but small for print. For a door poster or a stack of flyers, print at 10 × 13 cm or smaller, or run an upscaler before going larger. For an Instagram story, regenerate at 9:16 rather than cropping, so the title is not cut off.

Frequently asked questions

Do these ChatGPT Halloween prompts work in ChatGPT itself?

Yes. They are plain text written for GPT Image, the image model in ChatGPT. Paste them with your photo attached. Results differ between ChatGPT and this studio because model versions, settings and limits differ.

Is this site ChatGPT or OpenAI?

No. GPT Images is an independent studio with its own accounts and credits. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, and a ChatGPT subscription does not include usage here.

Why is a letter in my poster wrong?

Short text is usually right, but not always. Upload the image to the edit route and ask for that one correction with the exact words in quotes. Always proofread before printing.

Can I put my friends on the poster too?

This studio's edit route takes exactly one reference image. Put everyone in one group photo first and upload that, and say how many people the poster should show so nobody is added or dropped.

Can I use a real movie's title or logo?

Use your own title. The prompts are written as original designs and ask for no studio logos. Recreating a real poster's branding can infringe someone else's rights.
