GPT Image 2.5 Flare vs Sunburst

This studio offers two GPT Image 2.5 models, Flare and Sunburst, each for both text-to-image and editing. They are priced differently and suit different stages of a project.

Try Flare first

In short

  • Flare is selected by default for generation and editing.
  • Choose Sunburst for detail-focused work.
  • Flare: 4 credits per image, 6 per edit. Sunburst: 6 per image, 8 per edit.
  • Each run makes one PNG at medium quality; nothing is silently substituted.

When to use Flare

Flare is the efficient default: exploring compositions, testing a headline layout, or making quick variations of a product shot before you commit to one direction.

When to use Sunburst

Switch to Sunburst for the version where small details matter — fine textures, product finishes, or a poster that will be printed. It costs a little more per image and per edit.

A two-step workflow

  1. Explore with Flare: two or three variations of the brief.
  2. Pick a direction and write down what must stay.
  3. Finish with Sunburst, either from the same prompt or by editing your chosen Flare image.
